Στα πλαίσια της πρωτοβουλίας Creative Community Outreach που έχει σαν σκοπό την προβολή της δράσης του διεθνούς οργανισμού στο ευρύ κοινό, το καστ και οι δημιουργοί του Battlestar Galactica βρέθηκαν να συμμετέχουν σε μια συνάντηση του Οργανισμού Ηνωμένων Εθνών. Συζητήθηκαν θέματα όπως τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα, η τρομοκρατία, και τα παιδιά στον πόλεμο.

«Only a few months ago we celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, one of the founding documents of this organization,» he [Craig Mokhiber, from the U.N.'s office of the high commissioner for human rights] added. «When you think about what the world looked like at the time that that declaration was adopted, it was not unlike the charred and scarred representations that we saw on ‘Battlestar Galactica’ as a result of a horrific war that was accompanied by the most extreme forms of human cruelty on a massive scale.»
